Ok so the cover I’ve been showing for Crypts & Things has merely been a placeholder.
Here’s the real deal, drawn by the very talented Jon Hodgson
Bonus points if you can nail who the inspiration behind the axe wielding barbarian is (and no its not a certain Mr Conan
).

It certainly is a thing of beauty. Well done Newt and Jon.
Sweet! I am ready to see the inside as well.
Soon John, soon
Finishing Layout this weekend
Sláine maybe?
Half-right
I would say it looks like Kull fighting some degenerate serpent men.
By that axe he RULES!
and that’s the other half.
This Dark Horse Collection cover was a big influence
I like that, a change to the dark colour palette of most OSR rulebooks.
What size is the book ?
US Letter i.e. 8 x 11.
I went all proportional representation on the poll I had about the size.
Sorry anyone who voted manbag US Trade paperback, but THIS IS D&D not Indie
Can’t wait for this to be released… looks great!
Looks stunning – like everyone else I’m very excited to get this in my hands (and then unleash it on my players!)
Any idea what your pricing is going to be yet? I really want to get this when it’s ready, either in print or pdf, possibly both
I have vague ideas of pricing, but until the book is finalised I’m not going to say.
hehe, fair enough. I look forward to finding out.
WOW! You are pulling out all the stops, Newt! This project just keeps getting better and better.
Going all the way to 11
Really cool! Very much looking forward to this!
Will it be available in hardback ?
Yes.
Awesome!!
Very cool. Really looking forward to getting my mitts on this.
Awesome cover! Congratulations!
Awesome! Looking forward to it!
Terrific timing — I’m prepping an old school flavored, swords & sorcery style game, and the task of hacking 4E to suit my needs was looking insurmountable. This looks like just the thing. I know everyone is asking, but WHEN!?! And will it be immediately available in PDF, or only in print?
Thanks!!!
Awesomeness! When? I must have this!
So, there’s only a week or so left of September. Are we actually going to see the book this month?
Excellent cover!
(And, by eldritch coincidence, I just recently read that ‘Kull’ collection!)
